Amboseli National Park is situated on the foothills of the highest mountain in Africa as well as
the highest free-standing mountain in the world: the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the
home of the famed Masai people; these tall, proud nomadic warriors have legendary skills in
battles, and their single-handed acts of bravery in fighting wild animals have spread all over the
world.
There are over 900 free-ranging African elephants as well as herds of wildebeest and
many more animals such as giraffes, elands, monkeys, zebras, hyenas, antelopes and not
forgetting the BIG Five – Lion, Leopard, Rhino, and Buffalo.
